The article deals with the problem of family interaction in the context of attachment theory. An important role in family interaction is played by the ability of partners to establish close, trusting relationships, which is determined by their type of attachment. Attachment in the context of interpersonal relationships describes the emotional connection between people, reflects the level of trust, emotional openness, and desire to be together. According to J. Bowlby's theory, attachment types are formed in childhood and influence the way people build and maintain close relationships. Partners with a secure attachment type are capable of establishing deep and lasting relationships, and are open to emotional intimacy, mutual understanding, and support. Partners with insecure attachment styles may avoid intimacy and are at risk of getting into codependent, disharmonious relationships. The empirical study (n=68) allowed us to identify the peculiarities of interpersonal relationships in partners with different types of attachment. It was found that most of the subjects have a secure type of attachment, they more often choose cooperation and compromise as ways to resolve conflict situations, are open to expressions of love and sympathy in relationships, and have a high level of relationship satisfaction. Subjects with insecure attachment (anxious-ambivalent, avoidant and disorganized attachment) have some difficulty expressing love and sympathy in relationships, choose rivalry or avoidance as ways to resolve conflicts, and have a low level of relationship satisfaction. Thus, family interaction is related to the type of attachment: partners with secure attachment are more likely to show feelings and intimacy, use more constructive behavior in conflicts, and are more satisfied with their relationships than partners with insecure attachment.
